TO COMMAND AUSTRALIAN NAVY. Melbourne, September 23. Rear-Admiral Sir Lionel Halsey, formerly captain of H.M.S. New Zealand, has been appointed Rear-Admiral commanding the Australian Navy.—Press Assn. [Rear-Admiral Halsoy commanded H.M.S. Neiv 'Zealand during tbo Empire cruise of that ship%in 101.3, and during the action in -Heligoland Bight, 1914, and at. thc'Doggcr Bank in 191.5. Jn 1913 ho was appointed Third Sea Lord at the Admiralty, hut recently ho returned to active service with tbo Grand Fleet. Admiral Halsey was born in 1872.]
