STRONG MEASURES WITH BAILWAS'STRIKERS: (Rec. September 22, 5.5 p.m.)
Now York, September 20. The New York "TimosV Peking correspondent states that Hsu Chili Chang, the President-elect, is assiduously working for peace with the south'. The indications are that he will succeed.
The correspondent adds that the strike on the Chinese eastern railway continues. The engineers were forced at the bayonet point to man the trains between Harbin and Vladivostok, to maintain military connections. GenHorvath is conferring with other officials, with a view to establishing a new railway administration.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn. ■ .
