THE WAR IN THE AIR RAIDS OVER THE FRONTIER (Rec. September 19, 2 a.m.) London, September 17i The Air Ministry reports: "On the afternoon of September 16 .wcvtwice attacked the aeroplaruvworks aiuFcJiemical factory at Mannheim, with excellent results. The enemy attacked us over our objective. Three British machines are missing. We attacked the German homo defence aerodrome at Hagenau. Bursts were observed on and near the . hangars,'one of which was set on lire. All our machines returned. On the night of September 16-17 we attacked three aerodromes with bombs and mach-ine-gun fire, with good results. We heavily attacked'tho railways,, at MctzSabloiis and Troves, starting three fires at Motz-Sablons. We dropped bombs all round Treves station, and also heavily attacked Frankfort station, with good eifect. The night began calm, but later high winds arose. At present seven British have not been loeuted. During tho past three days we dropped sixty tons of bombs. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assu.-Reuter.
