MARKET AND STREET DAY. , The campaign 'of the Italian Red Cross appeal is progressing satisfactorily, and this week is a busy oite. Tonight there will be a Gallipoli evening at the Island Bav Town Hall, when Major J. G. Hughes, C.M.G., D.S'.O., and Corporal Honare Tawhiwi will give some Gailipoli songs and stories. Mr. L. 0. ET,. Tripp will be in the chair, and the principals wiil be assisted by other artists. j The Italian Market in the Town Hall I will be opened to-morrow. The stalls ' and decorations are being prut up today, and the large hall will present a scene of brilliant colour and life when business Logins. The feature for tomorrow will be a baby beauty show. I The competition will be divided into i four sections, and prizes will be given ;in each. The market will contain many ; interesting stalls and side shows, and i meals will be provided a.ij moderate I charges in the ten and luncheon booths. i It is anticipated that big business will j be done on Friday, and immense stocks lof goods are being arranged for.
