The council had . laid down a policy approving of the taxing of war bonds, yet because the Accountants' Society turned it down., were they to do nothing further in the matter? Mr. Hunt said that'the chamber had not approved of any definite policy— they merely thought it was a subject worth considering. An there was 110 motion, the subject of the taxing of war bonds lapsed. Tho chamber decided not to take any further steps regarding consideration of tho daylight, saving idea, until t.lio return of the Prime Minister and Sir Joseph Ward 'from England.
