TENNIS
The annual meeting of the Brougham Hill Tennis Club was held on Thursday, Mr. GB. N. Goldio presiding. The following officers were elected:—President, Hon.. J. G. AV. Aitkeii., M.L.C.; vice-presidents, Sir Kenneth Douglas, Messrs G. N. Goldie, J. Hunter, G. ATinder, G. A. Hurley, S-. Roberts; ■delegates to the AVellington Provincial L.T. Association, Messrs. M, F. Instone'and S. Roberts; management committee, Messrs. S. Roberts, H. -V. Howe, Miss Sinclair, and Mosdames TV.'E. Hose and Norris; lion, treasurer, Mr. J. A. B. Howe; lion, secretary, Mr. AV. E.. Howe. Opening day was fixed for September 28, and it was decided that a special afternoon, in the shnpp of a combined handicap tourney, be given on September 21 to tho ladies of the club, in appreciation of their kindness in providing afternoon tea during tho winter months. Reference was made by Mr. Goldio to tho splendid work and bravery df "our buys" at the front, and cheers were given. The meeting concluded with the usual votes of thanks and the singing of the National Anthem.
