ITALIAN RED CROSS
The' last Sydney steamer brought to Wellington two large oil paintings by Dattilo Kubbo, the well known Australian artist. These, and other original paintings, aro to be disposed of by means of an art union in aid of the Italin!n lied Cross appeal, wLioli is now being made to raise funds to help the wounded' soldiers of Italy. The other attractions to bo held to the same end are being woll-organised, and will bo very complete. Prominent among theße will bo the Italian market in tho Town Hall on September 19 and. 20. Tho large hall'will, be bright with stalls of all kinds, whereon it is hoped to display ample supplies of produce, toys, sweets, cakes, flowers, boots, ana other things. A feature will be the fish market, towards which the Italian fishermen of Wellington and suburbs will contribute harvests of the deep. Friday, September 20, will he a- street day in Wellington, and the appeal closes oil that day.
