MOKE APPEALS SECOND WELLINGTON BOARD The Second Wellington Military Service Board concluded its session in Wellington yesterday. Mr. J. W. Poynton. S.M., is chairman of tho board, and' those who sat with him were Messrs. F. Curtice and G. Williams. George William Hoy, motorman, Johnsonville, who works a small farm, asked for time to dispose of stock and plant. Leave till January was given him. An adjournment sine die was made in the case of Monte lirett Iggulden, salesman, ■ Masterton, for whom tho Loan and Mercantile' Company appealed. Appeals by Soldiers, Private Henry J. Harris, returned soldier, asked for leave. It was > stated, that Harris had a record of 3i years' active service, and that his sheet was a very good one. The chairman said that jlarris was entitled to leave, and the hoard granted three months. Bombardier Thomas E. Catchpole, a returned soldier, now at I'eatherston, who had served for over three years at tho front, was recommended for two months' leave. > Samuel Henry Williams, a soldier m Tauherenikau Camp, was recommended for indefinite leave. His brother had been killed at the front. No recommendation is to be mado in the case of Thomas Williamson, Who is doing compulsory home service at Trentham. n , Privato Joseph G. Kett, a returned soldier, was given indefinite leave for family reasons. An extension of leave was granted Lance-Corporal 11. 11. Penny, Details, Trentham Camp. Various ?ases. James- Stephen O'Neill boilermaker's labourer, was appealed for by Ins mother, whoso support lie was. it was said that a brother had been killed durine an air raid on a military hospital." Leavo sine die was granted on certain conditions. The board allowed leave till the first January draft. William James Willis, a f gardener, who said that his wife s health was at present very unsatisfactory, had liis case adjourned till Jan,laWilliam tfrediWk Moran desired to be rriven time to take advantage of a chance of obtaininsr an engineer s certificate. The board, after questioning appellant, said that they recognised that he was not trying to evade service, and they adjourned his case till January. „„ , T -r, A warehouseman, Thomas Henry J). Garbett, appealed 011 the ground that ho was a- sole surviving son and had. a mother, a wife, and a child dependent on him. His only brother had been killed. The case was adjourned till next month for tlie production ot 1 appeal by the father of William Arthur Wilson, undertaker, was adjourned till January.
