"A GRAND RECORD"
« N.ft COMPANY'S AVAR.CONTRIBUTION. A record which was described as "grand" was related to the Second Military Service Board yesterday. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company appealed on behalf of a produce, salesman. The representative of tho company said that the man would be very hard to replace and that it would take years to train a substitute. Out of a New Zealand staff of 355, 190 .had gone to the war. Thirty had been killed and 50 wounded. Forty were conccrned with tho next three ballots. Tho military 'representative pointed out that produce salesmen wero only classed as "partially essential." Produce would still be distributed, even if the salesmen were taken. The chairman of the board: Yes. but look at the company's record. Wo will adjourn the appeal sine die. It is a grand record.
