6 THE SEARCH FOR, CANDIDATES. The Hon. V. D. S. Man Donald, .Act-ing-Leader of the Liberal Party, is still in search of a candidate to carry the National Government's banner in the forthcoming contest for Wellington Contral. fle stated yesterday that he had not yet mado a decision. Among the possible candidates mentioned is Mr. M. J. Mack, general secretary. of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, but Mr. Mack states that ho lias not yet made up his mind. The Social Democratic Party, one of the most numerous of the Labour groups which ivill have the selection hv ballot of. the Labour candidate, has unanimously nominated Mr. P. Fraser for the honour. In connection with the" Wellington Central by-election, a special meeting of ti.j "Wellington Labour Representation Committee will be held at the new Trades Hall, Vivian Street, to-night, at 8 o'clock.
