The mine manager of the Murray Creek Gold Mining Company, Ltd., reports for the month of August, as follow.—No. 4 level-North; Stoping lias been carried on here without any change. South: Stoping ha*, been carried on in tljo hangingwall reef to a length of about 110 feet, with a width from 2ft. to Cft. Thi« line of reef is now being opened for stoping to the south rise. A commencement has been made- sloping the "centro block" (between' hamrinp-wall and foot-wall reefs) at present, showing good faces goinp south. Further development is now going on to prove tho extent of this. No stoning has been done on the foot-wn.ll reef. Repairing this level is now in hand. When completed I intend to let a contract t"> extend No. 4 north 100 feet.. Further development will bo undertaken on tho smith end, by way >of rising io connect with the centro block stone. No. 3 Lcvcl.--North: The reef continues here from 2ft. to 10ft. in width, for about 150 ft. in length, with every appearance of further extension. No further work*"has been done above this level during the past month. Tonnage: Stoped for tho month, 1157 tons. Delivered to bat-tory ore-bin, IC66V tons. During the month 1015 tons of quart!-, were crushed, which produced gold and concentrates of a gross value of £2030. The recent conference of tho Wellington Freezing Workers' Union decided to make further representations to the Minister of Imlustriiil- Affairs, vith the object of having Australian liuightermen excluded this year.
