QUESTION OP CONTROL. A considerable time ago, when the scheme for the settlement of returned soldiery on the land was being first mooted, the members of the Wairarapa Patriotic Committee conceived the idea _of establishing in their district a special training farm at which a returnedman desiring to' settle on tho land might be instructed in the rudiments of' fanning before going on to a piece of land of his own. Since, then the farm has been obtained, and the question. now arises as to how it ; is 'to be administered. Yesterday representatives of the committeo'were in town meoting representatives of tlm Agricultural Department, one of the proposals .being that the farm shall be controlled by the Department. '• Before-any definite arrangement of this kind can be concluded the proposals will have to be submitted to the Government.
