PROPOSAL TO INCREASE THE FIGHTING FORCES. • (Rcc. September 11, 1.10 a.m.) . Simla, September 10. In the Indian Council Sir William Moyer moved ta resolution that India take a larger share in the raising and financing of military forces. Ho proposed to recruit anothor half-million men and take over the cost of 200,000 more men, raising army for wliich India mil pay up to 360,000, so relieving the British Government. Certain other changes are proposed, totalling in cost £80,000,000 during the next two years, in addition to £10,000,000 for pension chargeß.— Renter,
