■ An attractive concert was given by ill's. E. Meier at the Sailors' Friend Society on Thursday. ,A feature,of the evening were the violin solos of. the hostess. The perforinors were:—Mesdames Meier and Kennedy, Misses Teychenno, Russell, van Staveren, Euro, and Mr. Laycock. The Misses Teychonne and van Staveren were at tliO'piano. In an interval supper was provided by Mrs. Kennedy. Tho competition prizes cam© from Kelbum in the form of books, so valued bjythe men. Mr. Mooro thanked all for a ■happy night, which was followed by the cheers of tho men.
