DRUIDISM
ROYAL ARCH CHAPTER. The monthly meeting of tho Royal Arch Chapter was held on Wednesday, when there was a. very good attendance of members. Bro. A. J. Norris, President, presided. The Chapter was Honouredl with.tho presence of Bro. W. S. Millsteed, a Druidic veteran, who was on 1 , a. visit from Ohristehurch. Bro. Willsteed wag ono of the pioneers of Druidism in tho City of tho Plains, and although now sevoiity-spven years of age, still takes a keen interest in tho affairs of the Order. One member of tho Order wag admitted to tho Degree of a Past Aroh. Owing to the removal of Bro. Tullett to tho Hutt district he was reluctantly compelled to tender his resigna-, tion as Royal Arch Druid, and it was accepted with regret. Bro. J. Middletori was elected', to the vacancy. This necessitated two other being filled, and Bro. T. Mollison and Bro. A. Chote were elected R.V.A.D. and R.V.A.B. respectively. Tho. installation . was carried out in a very impressivo mariner by Bro. Crombie, P.R.6., assisted by Bro. J. Johnstone, P.P., who aotod as Master of Ceretuonicß. '
Bro. .Mulling reported that the Juvenile Lodge Committee was making satisfactory progress with its organising work, and that he expected to be able to submit a complete set of rules find scale of contributions and benefits at tho next meeting of the Chapter. On. t'he motion of Bro. A. Smith, P.D.P., Bros. Borrows, Chapman, Mollisoo, Potter, and tho mover wero appointed 1 a committee to revise tho rules governing fcho ritual competitions for the Royal Arch Chapter shield, and to bring up their report at the next meeting of the Chapter. The following wero appointed judges in connection with thq forthcoming ritual compotitions:—Elocution, Bro. Edwards, of Poneke Lodge; correctness of words, Bro. Smith, of Coronation Lodge; conduct and harmony, Bro. M'Laughlin, of Excelsior Lodge. It was decided, on tho motion of Bro. Johnstone, tb, endeavour to start a past officers' amusement fund, with n view to having quarterly social evenings, and to ascertain how many past officers would be willing to contribute to tho fund. Correspondence was read, conveying fraternal greetings from tho RoyarArch Chapters at Dunediij, Christehurch, and Lovin. '
