BURNSIDE STOCK SALE
By Telegraph.—Press Association. . Dunedin, September 4. 'At' Burnside fat cattle were penned, principally medium to godd quality steers. Prices opened at an advance of £1 pel' head on late rates, but declined 10s. per head as the sale progressed. Prime bullocks, £20 to £24 7s. 6d.; medium, £17 to £18 10s.; light,' £14 to £16 ss. ; medium cows and .heifers, £12 10s. to £14 10s.; light and inferior, £10 10s. to £11 15s. The sheep penned numbered 2198, including a number of very prime ewes and wethers. A number of outside buyers were purchasing for-.the northem markets,, and a keen sale resulted. Prices were fully equal ■to- last, week's
rates. Extra prime wethers, 58s. 9c1.; .prime, 495. to 545.; medium, 425. 6d., to'. 465. ;. 'light, 345. to 39s.extra prime' owes, -50s. 9d;;; primo, 425; 9d. to 465.; medium, 345.' to 39s!;'light,' 305.;" hoggets., 275. to 305.; 9d. There was.a medium entryof-pigs,'comprising, porkers, baebners, suckers, and a few slips. The demand by curers and but- " cher's was decidedly easier.
