PRISONERS SENTENCED
By Telegraph.—Press Association. .Hamilton, September 4. In the Supreme Court, Charles Southwell, charged with indecent assault, which was reduced to common assault, pleaded guilty, and was ordered to como up for sentence when called upon, and to be handed over to the military authorities. Accused was on filial leave when the ofr'ciice happened. Edward James Wilson, charged with attempted theft from the person, who was arrested in AVellington, and lias several previous convictions, was found guilty, and sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment with hard labour. Ho was in an hotel drinking, when ho put his hand in a companion's pocket. The money fell to the floor and was recovered. Duneriin, September 4. At tho Supreme Court to-day Patrick Joseph Oliver was brought up. for sentence on a charge of failing to comply with the conditions of his release. Prisoner pleaded guilty recently to a charge of forgery, and was ordered to come up for sentence when called oil. Q'he Probation Officer said tlrtit prisoner made no attempt whatever to fulfil tho conditions under which ho was released. The Judge ordered prisoner to be detained for reformative purposes for a term not exceeding five years.
