. MEETING OF THE BOAKD. , '' — ( The monthly meeting of the Technical Education. Board was held last evening. Mr. George Frost presided, and there wcro present Messrs. J. P. Luke, T. Ballinger, J. 3. Clark, H. M. Gore, T. Forsyth, A. Atk'ins, W. J. Thompson, A. Wallace, W. H. Bennett, G. L. Stewart, J. E. Fitzgerald, J. P. Shand, M. F. Luckle, and L. It. Partridge. Mr. John Hutchoson wrote resigning' his seat on the board. The resignation whs accepted with i;egret. Messrs. J. J. Clark and J. P. Shand, who have been appointed to the board by the Education Department, were welcomed by the chairman. ' The chairman stated that he had heard nothing furthe'r r.s to the new site for the Technical School, and lie did not think'that Cabinet would do anything until Mr. Massey. and, fiir Joseph Ward returned.: There was considerable dissatisfaction expressed by members. 'Mr. J. E. Fitzgerald said that for the past toil years successive Ministers of Education had made, promises and nothing h«d Vewi done. He did not think iinythirijj; would be done when the touring Ministers returned, for then fresh excuses would bo available to the Ministers. (He suggested that further pressure should lie brought to hear on the GoArument, and "that nn effort should lm made to get a' definite reply from the Minister of Education. Ho moved that the chairman, Mr. T. I'Vsyth (clwirtnnij ol the Education Board), mid Mr. .1. V. I-uku (the Mayor) should again wait upon the Minister of Education and urge tho necessity of prompt action. Mr. Luekie also spoke strongl.V against tho delay, and urged that tho Minister should be seen .promptly. Mr Partridge thought the pressure .could onlv he brought to bear on tlie T»overninent and Parlinnient through a public meeting, and lie >uggested that this course'should be adopted. Jfr.
