THE COMPETITIONS
The musical and elocutionary- compactions t'o he held in November next are creating particular interest among the students of these subjects. The syllabus and hook of words have been distributed throughout the Dominion, and a number of entries liavo already been received, including some from as far south as Invercargill. Mr. MacKenzie, of Wnnganui; has been appointed judge in the section for Highland dancing; In "'response to a circular inviting tho citizens of Wellington to ■ become members of the society a number of replies have, been received. A full supply of the'test .■music has been arranged for, and is now obtainable. As 'it is -iieesssary to issue.'tho time-table as soon os possible after entries close competitors are to make.their,entries at an early date.
