IRON SMELTING RESUMED
METALLURGICAL PROBLEM SAID TO BE SOLVED. By Tolegraph.—Press Association. Now Plymouth, September 2. The iron smelting works at Moturoa, which closed down some mouths ago for reconstruction of the furnace, etc., on improved lines, resumed on Friday. What is described as excellent grey iron of uniform quality is now being turned out. The impossibility of obtaining coal supplies prevents continuous working beyond the end of this week, but tho metallurgical problem is regarded, as definitely solved.
