WORK OF THE FRENCH BOMBING SQUADRONS

(Rec. September 1, 5.5 p.m.) Now York, August 31. The "New York limes" Washington correspondent states that official dispatches from Paris say that in tho first two weeks of August French bombing 'planes' dropped 90 tons of projectiles in the daytime and 216 tons at wight on the West front. Five enemy aeroplanes were brought down oier the French lines. Six wero brought clown by anti-aircraft guns. Fortyseven enemy machines wero brought down over their own- linos, and 93 were disabled. Six German balloons «eris set on firo. The French losses were less than one-third of tho enemy's.
