A PROTEST » FROM WELLINGTON LICENSED VICTUALLERS' ASSOCIATION. . The following resolutions wore adopted at a meeting of the Licensed Victuallers' Association, held yesterday:— "That tliis meeting of the Licensed Victuallers' Association of Wellington desires to express its surprise and indignation at tho action of tho leaders of the Prohibition Party, who, in an endeavour to secure signatures to a Petition asking Parliament to grant a referendum on the Liquor Question, aro inserting an advertisement in tho daily papers depicting the Licensed Trade as being hand-in-hand with tlio Kaiser." "Whatever may bo tho public opinion on the liquor question, tho members of tho Licensed Victuallers' Association aro unanimous in their opinon Hint tlio advertisement referred to is undignified, unBritish, and wholly unworthy of tho representatives of an intellectual csmi•immity." "Thousands of those connected with I lie Licensed Trade aro at the front, and hundreds who are conscientiously opposed to Prohibition have lost sons and relatives who, out of lovo and zeal for their country, gave their lives bravely fighting for liberty and right."
