FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications aro for moderate to ntrong southerly to westerly winds in tho north, and frceheninc norlherlies in tho south. Weather fair to cloudy generally, but showery about East Cane and Foveaux Strait. Barometer unsteady, ivith a rising tendency at present in the north, but fallinc everywhere ehortly. The barometer has ri'6on slightly since last evening, and strong but decreasing southerly winds have prevailed northwards of Weatporl and Kaikoura. nnd northerly breezes elsewhere.
