The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-operative Association, .Limited, Stock Department, report:—We held a.-very successful sale on account of llf. A. Begbie, Newman, on Monday. The cattle came forward in nice condition, and competition for the various lots was exceptionally keen. The whole heard of 48 cows and heifers made the satisfactory average of £14.' l'rices were: Cows, £11 to £17 155.; springing 2-year heifers, £10 to £16'7s. fid.; 18-month-bulls, £5 to £5 10s.; weaner pigs, six weeks old, 295. to 355.' At the conclusion of the abovo sale the firm offered on account of J. Bourke's estate a; line of springing, heifers. which made £12 10s.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency. Company, Ltd., report that at their Levin yards on Tuesday a good yarding of" sheep and a Binall entry of cattle was penned. Bidding for sheep was spirited, a\l lines being sold under the hammer. Quotations: Medium fat ewes and wethers, 31s. 2d.; mixed sheep,' 21s. 3d. to 225. 7d.; aged ewes and lambs, 245.; short hoggets (good), 25a.; woolly hoggets (good), 255.; medium woolly hoggets, 215.; small hoggets, 15s. to 15s. Bd.; vealcr, £5 35.; springing heifers, £9 15s. to £10.
Messrs. Dalgety anil Company, Limited, report having held their wcoltly Bale at Levin on Tuesday, when they onored a, fair yarding of sheep and cattle. The principal Hales effected were as follow:—Pat and forward ewes up to 255. 9d.; 25-year springing S.H. heifers, up to £12 10s.; milch cows up to £9.
