Canterbury Farmers' Union to-day adopted a remit urging that the surplus profits on wool not needed for military purposes by the Imperial Government should not be devoted to any one patriotic purpose, I.s had been recommended by Mr. K. Ne-vman, M.P., and that in view of the large profits made by the shipping companies, these companies should provide for the de-pendants-of. their own employees lost at sea.
