WELLINGTON COLLEGE DEFEAT CHRIST'S COLLEGE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, August 28. .The. second game of the annual in-ter-college football tournament was played to-day, when, after a fast and exceedingly hard game, Wellington College defeated Christ's College by sis points to three. The play was chielly confined to t]je forwards, though at times Hindmarsh and Wilson, for Christ's College, and Davidson, Nicoll, and Ward, for Wellington, made some lino runs. Nicoll and Davidson scored tries for Wellington, while Hindmarsh scored for thesquthernors, none of the tries being converted. There was a large attendance. NELSON COLLEGE BEAT NEW PLYMOUTH HIGH SCHOOL. New Plymouth, August 28. The third match of tho schorl tournament took place to-day, when Nelson College met High School. A splendidly contested game resulted in tho visitors winning by 13 points to 9. The local team lost a certain score by a player losing tho ball behind the posts when touching down. The teams were evenly matched, and gave a very fine exhibition of the game.

CANTERBURY v. WELLINGTON. The twenty-ninth interproi<incial match between Canterbury and Wellington is to be played on Saturday afternoon, at the Athletic Park. Wellington has won on sixteen occasions, Canterbury on eleven, and one match (in 1898) was drawn. fhe following are tho teams:— Wellington.—Full-back, E. Scott; three-quarters, C. Porter, M. Corner, and W. Thomas; five-eighths, F. Tilyard and C. Morris; half-back, H. Nicholls; forwards, Albert Parker, A. Parker, T. Troy, 'B. Eberbard, ' A. Scott, J. Marks, H. Tancred, A. Bowe (wing).

Canterbury.—Full-back, A! D. Tench ; three-quarters, A. M'Leod, P. E. Boag, A. Grant; five-eighths, J. C. Mullins and C. E. Guiney; half-back, E. Fitzgerald; forwards, T. Crawsliawi, 0. Hegarty, C. Murray, W. Cummings, E. Cummings. A. Henry, It. Drake, and I. Gray (wing).

Mr. L. Simpson will be the referee. The third class final, Athletic v. Berhampore, commencing at the Park at 1.30 p.m. on Saturday, will be played as a "curtain-raiser" to the representative match. Mr. Bert Tregear mil referee.
