KARORI AFFAIRS

MEETING OF TH 1 ' BOROUGH COUNCIL. A meeting of thd Karori Borough Council was hold last evening. Thero were present: The Mayor (Mr. B. 6. H. Burn), Councillors W. Skegg, I?. li. Tingey, T. W. Lewer, J. Mackenzie, A. T. Pell, H. E. Dryden, W. G. Bradnoclc, and A. Hamilton. A letter was received from the Hasting Borough Council with respect to the uiswer given by the Government in regard to enemy aliens being interned, which the Hastings Council viewed :is unsatisfactory, and asking the Karori Council to support a resolution ;igain requesting the Government to intern all enemy aliens. It was decided to support the Hastings Borough Council in the efforts it is making to have she so enemy aliens interned. To meet the convenience of Civil Servants resident in Karori the Traffic Manager of the City Tramways suggested that the car leaving (the Council Chambers at 8.5 a.m. should be put forward to Imvo at- 8. This car woidd reach the Government Buildings by 8.23 in. After a short discussion it was

decided to ngree to the proposed alterition, which is (o come into effcct on Monday, September 2.
