It ia recognised iu England, soys an exchange, that there is not the slightest possibility of Gay Crusader ever racing again. The Derby winner of 1917 was a champion in every sense of the term, and all lovers ot a great horse must regret his premature exit from the racecourse. Still, he had a brilliant career as a three-year-old, for ho won the long distance Gold Cup race as well us tho classic races, and it great future is assured for him at tho etuii. He was in the opinion of many a better horse than in this year's Derby winner, Ciainsborough.
