VISIT BY SLR. JOSEPH COOK. (Rec. August 25, 5.5 p.m.) London, August 23. " Sir Joseph Cook (Federal Minister for'tho Navy) thoroughly inspected the battleship Australia, and conversed with the officers and other ratings. Four of the latter wero participants in the Zeebrugge raid, and were presented to Sir Joseph Cook, who told them how proud Australia was of them. Sir Joseph Cook also sent a letter of congratulation to each of the eleven participants in the exploit. He expressed to Admiral Leveson and Captain Bankhouse his satisfaction with* what he had seen, and particularly congratulated them on the contented spirit of tho men. Anxious as many were to see their homes again after so long an absence, they .had endured their isolation and hardships with the greatest fortitude.—Aus.-N.jZ. Cablo Assn.
