The journal "Les Nouvclles" states that the .Germans shut three hundred British prisoners in a dark, unventilated coach-house behind tho Picardy front for sixteen days. They were unable to lie down, and were scarcely- able to move. Their only food was repulsive broth, and they were only allowed out for a f iv minutes daily. .Many died— Aus.-N-.Z. Cable Assn. '
