TWO DIG CONCERNS JOIN FORCES. London, August 22. Despite the. opposition of tho chairman and five difectors, British Dyes, Ltd., lias decided to amalKamato~..with Levinsteins. Sir Albert Stanley. President of the Board of Trade, advocated/the amalgamation with the view to securing increased .efficiency by the combination or the two greatest dye producers 111 the country. i'l'lio Bradford Dyers' Association, in ,1 une last adopted a resolution declaring "its full approval of His Majesty's Government in regard to the dye-making industry, and of tho amalgamation of all the principal dye-mamiiacturing urius and companies as an essential means of facilitating that," and directing that tho vote of the association at the meeting or British Dyes should bo given "for tho amalgamation of that company and Levinstein's, Ltd., as tho first step towards the complete consolidation of the industry in Groat Britain." The resolution further expressed a hope that tho new company would "continue Ihe negotiations entered on with the Swiss colour makers in April, 1916, with a view of securing their "friendly co-operation." Tho scheme was supported by representatives of,various British leading d.vo users, chiefly on the grounds that it would accelerate production, and was urged upon them by. "tho responsible heads of His Majesty's Government.]
