This letter, said Mr. Hardy, to> nether with a cable message sent on .Tnly ii, in which Colonel Rhodes spoko of a "temporary slay," would disposa of a~ rumour that. bad gained currency that Colonel Rhodes was going to remain in England as Red Cross Commissioner for a long period.
