■'_ . STATEMENT BY SCULLY. Sydney, August 21. A lengthy statement by Scully, reviewing tho I.W.W. case as'given by Judd, allegos M'Allistor ; ono of tho material witnesses, told him that certain detectives had sworn to lies and faked evidenco. Tho statement declares that Scully and M'Allister issued writs against the Government with the idea of reopening tho case, but a few weeks after tho writs wcro issued M'Allister died suddenly. Scully's statement/' also traverses conversations with others connected with the trial, who alleged that the police evidence was "rigged."—Press Assn. (Eec. August 21, 11.30 p.m.) Sydney, August 21. Scully, further cross-examined on his written statement to Judd, donied or qualified nearly every vital detail reflecting against tho detectives, on the groundthat his literary inability had led him to express himself in wrong tonns.-'Press Assn.
