COAL STRIKE THREATENED IN YORKSHIRE
A DEADLOCK FEARED. (Rec. August 21, 11.30 p.m.) . London, August 20. The Coal Controller announces that the surface workers in certain Yorkshiro colj lieries threaten to strike, primarily over disputed hour?. The underground workers hava ftl6o given notice. A-large num- ' ber of men are affected. The great part of tho Torkshiro collieries are likely to be idle to-morrow. The Controller adds , that he has been trying to settle the dispute by arbitration, but the miners' leaders refuse.
