PENDING REPRESENTATIVE FIXTURES j CITY FINALS DECIDED The Management Committee of the Wellington ltugby Union met last evening. Mr. D. D. Weir presided. Tho Hutt Club sent delegates to complain about the rcferceing in the match Hutt thirds v. Railway Battalion, iho match was played at Lower Hutt last Saturday, and was won by Railway Battalion. Mr. C. Slater stated that the decisions of tho referee were so bad that a disturbance was narrowly averted. the Hutt committee had to take _ action to prevent the referee from being interfered with, and as an extra precaution the police were sent for. Mr. A. M'Bain said that in thirt) years' experience ho had never seen a game so incompetently controlled. It was not possible for Ilutt to win. The union decided that tho matter was not one for it to tleal with, and the chairman said that, no doubt the lielerces' Association would look into it. It was resolved tlint Petono, and Berhamporo should play at Athletic lark at, 1.30 next Saturday, and that Athletic and Eailway Battalion should play at Duppa Street at 1.30. These matches aro the semi-finals in the third-grade competition. Mr. E. Perry will referee in the first-mentioned match, and Mr. L. Simpson in the latter. Permission was given for the .playingof a match between a Wanganui junior team and a Wellington Marist Old Boys team. The match is to take placo at Newtown Park next Saturday. It was resolved that the return match, Auckland v. Wellington, in Wellington, should be played under the same conditions as the match at Auckland. The chief of these conditions was the abolition of tho wing forward. The Now Zealand Union wrote, pointing out that all matches must be played under Rugby Union rules. This 'was taken a; bearing on the Auckland alterations. The communication was received. Mr. W. Donovan was appointed to manage tho Wellington representative tonm, which is to go to Christehurch. Seventeen men are to be sent. It was resolved that the fifth and sixthclass competitions should lx> closed. Berhnmpore were declared winners of tho fifth-class comoetition, and SI. Patrick's I! of the sixth-class competition. . A sum of .£lo' was granted the School Union towards the cost of a tour of the Wairarapa. i Oriental and Berhninporn fifths were riven permission to nlav a curtain-raiser to the cup final on September 11. The Wairnrapa renrosentative team is to play hero on Saturday, ami arrangements for file match wero made. REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS CHOSEN.
