In the Supreme Court Hoberi; A'beircrornbie Brown, ex-accountant of the Farmers' Union Trading Company, charged with stealing .fcTiO from his employers, and Louis Aloysius Frost, formerly fiecretiirv of the J. F. Julian Company, charged with embezzling .£(184 from his employers, were each sentenced lo eighteen months' imprisonnunt.
Herbert Henry Goonau. a young man, was found guilty Inst week of an assault on a llaori girl in Ihe Maungaltirolo district. Prisoner .was admitted to probation for three years and ordered to Inko ou,t a prohibition order to cover The whole period. He was also ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution, and as these amounted to nearly ,650 he was allowed three years,in which to find the money.
Two young Dalmatians, Yisko Jlatich and Tony Unkovicti, were sentenced to four months' imprisonment for assaulting two young women in a tot en the river near Dargaville.
