BROOKLYN HARRIERS AND A.A. CLUB
On Saturday the Five Milo Copper Trail Teams' Knee was held at Seatoun. Seventeen entered for the race, and some very good times were made. It. Watson managed to bring his team in first, winning t>y 7 points, the other three teams running up very close. S. Oldfield, M. Ellison, and F. 'B. Wilson ran very well, bringing their teams up considerably. F. Nicholson ran K. Watson a very fllose second, the latter Raining fastest time— 32miu. 57sec.—Nicholson's time being 32tnin. sSsec. After tho race the members and supporters proceeded to afternoon tea. Mr. Bristow stated that ho was glad to see the club helping the Bed Cross, and congratulated them on their efforts. The club captain announced the winning team—B. Watson. I'\ B. Wilson, M. Ellison and S. Townsend—and asked Mrs. Collins to present, the blue ribbons donated by Mrs. Watson. The proceeds were then oounted, and the following amount acknowledged: 10s. fid., Mr J. 0. Shorland, 17s. entrance money from raco, lis. 3d. from the afternoon tea, the last-named amount being raised by charging the members and supporters an additional 3d., making a total of .£1 l!)s. Sid This being an odd amouut, the captain of tho club nsked those present if they would add a little more to the total, which suggestion met with a ready response, coins coining from all directions. In this way tho sum of .£1 le. Bd._ was raised, making the grand total .£3 15s.
