RUGBY CONTROL
NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. A meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand ilugby Union was held last night, Mr. (.!. If. Dixon presiding. There were also present: Messrs. Cr. A. Howe, E. .Wylie, ii. Marris, and Dr. M'Evedy. The South Canterbury Union submitted the following question!,: (1) Can a player play under the jurisdiction of two unions each week? (I!) If "No'' is the answer to <itiesticni 1, which union is he eligible to play under? It was decidcd to reply slating that thn matter was one which should be dealt with under the union's own by-laws, but that in representative matches a man could only play for the union in whoso district, lie was domiciled. Several unions notified tho council of various suspensions which hud been imposed on players, aii-.l in each ease tho action of tho 'ocal authorities was mado general.
