A protest agninst tho contemplated removal of Mr. G. C. Rodda from (lie position of officer in cliargo of the. War Expenses Department in Wellington was made in it resolution passed by tim Claims, Board of the Auckland Patriotic Association. Under the now arrangement iniido by tho Government, Mr. Hodda is to return lo his former position as an official of the Treasury. The resolution, which is to bo I'onntrdod to the Minister of Defence, records the fact that the patriotic societies have always found Mr. ltoddii most competent, and that in tho performance of his duties as paymaster hi; has given satisfaction alike to Ihe societies and to Iho soldiers' dependants.
