Transfer broke down nnd was pulled up.
Warform ami Wbiro each carried over four figures iu the itcdclWs Handicap. At tho start. Turpenito momentarily showed ia front, but Jingo 50011 took charge, and led till well down the straight, where Warform came through on the fence and soon had the Issue in sate keopinu. Whiro, Turpcnitc, aud Notability all put in claims, but Warform won easily from .lingo, with Turnenite a head away. Notability waß fourth. Gardrona was all the rage in tho August Handicap, but there was solid support for Comment and Ibex. Hydrus, on the outside, was in front after goiug two furlongs, but Sardinia and Comment wero first into the straight. Inside the distance All Over shot out and won by a length from Ibex, who was all out to beat Form Up. Kil.ioy aud Sardinia were close up. The winner was favourite in tho Winter Cup. but he was neglected to-day. Tho Beaufort Steeples was a eoml betting race, Yellow and Itlnclc. Coalition, St. Elnin, Collector, and Crib all belli? heavily backed. Merry Lad set a fast pace, and, followed by Arlington. Coalition, aiid Yellow and Black, to led for a round. GoiuE past tlie mile post. Avlingtou took charge, and Coalition moved into second place, with Yellow and Black alongside him. The double wris catcly negotiated, but at the nest brush Vcllow and Black lost a lot of ground. At the second fence from home, C'oaliiion joined Arlington, and the pair raced at tho last fence, toKstbcr, )>ut there was a bit of crowding, and Arlington ran oH. This left Coalition with a good lead, and lie won by several lengths. Yellow and Black came very fast and got second place. Sylva wan third, and Collector fourth. St. Elmu fell at the fnd wall iu the hint round, and Ci'ib and Merry Lad at tho Kennels double. The Spreydon Hurdles puzzled backers, and they supported the four top weights evenly. Hylans, ridden by llCßurly, set a fast puce, and soon had the field except Tornoa in difficulties. WishViil fell heavily at the mile post, Ifylana had a big lead entering the straight, but lie fell hwivily at Hit; last fence. Tornca was ;then left in front, but he tired badly, and Seville, finishing well, won nicely. liofeoblush was a long way hack in third place. Clang Awa' was a few pounds a better faTouiite than Kauri King in the SydenI hum Hurdles, but he cut up badly, and : again finished well in the rear. An enI deavour was made to ride him in behind.
