EDUCATION CONFERENCE
CLOSER CO-ORDINATION IN METHODS DESIRED. By Telegraph.—Press- Association. Christchurch, August 10. The Education Conference resumed its eitVings to-day. ' Mr. C. T. Aechmon, on behalf of the Educational Institute, moved that provision be made for closer co-ordinntion in the curricula and methods of instruction in primary, secondary, and technical departments of the education system. Sir. Caughley, Assistant-Director of Education, remarked* that co-ordination was being forced upon primary and secondary schools, but technical education had not yet quite found itself. It must be considered in the education scheme as a whole, because it was>a very valuable section. After a good deal of discussion, the motion was carried unanimously.
