C °M can be produced commercially is sorghum. and the advisory conuci has arranged with the New South Wales.Department of Agriculture for an <®tensivo series of experiments to be conducted at tho Hawkesbury Agricultnr.il Ulleee in the forthcoming season to obtain tho data necessary to determine which of the different varieties of sorghum gives tho 'greatest yield ot alcohol, and under what different conditions the maximum yield of sorghum can be obtained in an aero of crop. Systematic experiments arc bein" conducted at the Sydney University with the object of discovering whether zamia palm will yield alcohol in sufficient quantities to be of commercial value. Stems of zamia palm -contain starchy substances, but it has not yet been discovered whether thtso starches arc fermentable.
