KING GEORGE AT THE FRONT
A TO OCR OF THE ARMIES. London, August 14. The King spent a stronuous week at tho front, covering hundreds of miles. He left London on August 5. Though liis visit was not connected with tho prospective offensive, lie saw much of tho operations. His Majesty visited the King of Belgium, Sir Douglas Haig, and General Toch, and 'decorated General Deboney with the K.C.B. Ho eaw all tho British Army, Commanders, and inspected an enormous number of troops of all arm 9, and the women's forces. • He visited General Pershing and conferred many decorations on - Americans. His Majesty spent Monday with tho Fourth A my, and visited tho hospitals and casualty clearing stations noar tho line. The King met President Poincaro on Wednesday. Several shells fell in a village street shortly aftor tho King had passed through, during his visit to tho Second Aripy;—Aus.-N.Z. Cvible Assn.
