ALLEGED UNION COERCION. Sydney, August 15. Tho Industrial Arbitration Court has givou an important decision dealing with alleged union coercion. A member of a union appealed, against tho decision of the Chief Industrial Magistrate ordering l : him to pay £5 9s. 6d., tho balance of union subscriptions said to bo due. Tho pounds of the appeal were that ho was not a member of tho union, end had been compelled to join under a threat that all the other men would bo called \ / off tho job unless he joined. Judge Curlewis, in reversing the Magistrate's decision, said ho expressed no opinion as to tho rights or wrongs of •' military conscription.
