ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
SAWMILLER KILLED. . By Telegraph—Press Association. ' Taumarunui, August 13. Mr.' Hanson, of the firm of Mansou and Clark, sawmillers, met with a fatal accident yesterday at the Oio Mill. Deceased was adjusting a belt on a pulley when he became entangled, and was pulled round. His right arm was torn off, and lie was thrown with such force twelve feet away that his right leg was broken. The sufferer was brought to Taumarunui Hospital, where the leg was amputated, but Mr.-Maiison died later. Deceased was formerly a Napier resident. He leaves a wife and two children. r - ACCIDENT IN A TUNNEL. 4 Taumarunui, August 13. A man named William Coull, while working in the Oltahu tunnel yesterday, was caught between a horse and a trolley. He sustained a broken collarbone and bruises. TEAM CONDUCTOR SERIOUSLY INJURED. Wanganui, August 13. Tke first serious accident on the local tramways occurred yesterday. A car with a trailer attached was leaving the barn when the conductor, A. E. Robson, a single man, attempted tb cross from tho trailer, to the car, and fell between them. A wheel went over his legs, breaking one and badly crushing the other. FOUND DEAD. Dunedin, August 13. Gainett Tregonning, a sheep-farmer at Lee Stream,-was found dead in a gully behind his residence. He is believed to have shot himself. Deceased was married' and had three young children. John • Dennison, 78 years of ago, who was living alone in Albion Place, was found dead this morning.
