In his charge to tho grand jury Mr. Justice Stringer commented on the comparatively small number of charges, though it.was regrettable that six of the ten accused were charged with 6exual offences. Thomas May, who had pleaded guilty to two charges of incest, wa6 soutenced to seven years' imprisonment. Stanley En,cut Hobday, for theft at Gisborne, was admitted to pro-1 bation for 12 months. 1
