THE HONEY CROP
Tho Director o£ the Horticulture Diyision of the Department of Agriculture has received from the apiary instructors the following report concerning the houey crop prospects;— _ Auckland.—Bees have so far wintered well, the unusually cold weather having prevented flying. Prices remain tiie fame. There tiro many inquiries lor bees for the spring, indicating a l;oom in hee-keeping for tho next few years. Wellington,—Prices are firm and honey is in demand. A number of small lines nra still coming forward for grading. Sections are scarce and pat honey ,is tinprocurable. Clean beeswax, 2s. per lb. Dunedin.—The bulk of the honey is now forward. The local market is bare of supplies. Prices are firm. Bulk honey for export, !)d. to lOd. Section honey is in short supply. Of pat honey thereis very little offering. A strong inquiry existe for heeswax, and it is quoted at 2s. per lb.
