BUTTER EXPORT

THE EQUALISATION SCHEME. The butter producers and exporters are At present considering an equalisation scheme to distribute the profits made oil the sale of butter equally among thos9 who supply the local market and those whose butter is exported. Last year the exporter had much the better of tho deal, and the butter men, recognising the unfairness of this, have proposed to tho Ministor (tha Hon.-D. 11. Guthrie) that n, 6cheme should ; be established for equating tha profits. The Minister said yesterday that there appeared to bo a good cause to believe that there would be. no trouble in arriving at a solution of the diffioulty such as would be beneficial to all concerned. If butter was to be commandoered during the coming season the terms of tho purchase would be such as would prevent any such inequitable arrangement as there had been last year.
