The successes of tho Allies on the Western front 6till continue, while the toll of German prisoners and German booty has attained huge proportions. As was to be expected, the German resistance is stiffening. Heavy reinforcements are being rushed to the threatened fronts, and at Royo particularly, the fall of which would seriously embarrass the enemy's plans, the fighting has been very severe. Strong counter-attacks by tho: enemy at Lihona were repulsed, after heavy fighting. A fiorco struggle'is also in progress at Chaulnes, where strong German rearguards are endeavouring to cover the retreat. The whole situation is charged with important possibilities, which an interestingly discussed by the military writers.
