Judgment' Summons.—Joseph Williams was ordered to pay Frost and Frost .£ll 17s. by August 22, in default seven days' imprisonment.

POLICE BUSINESS. Katherino Evans was convicted of the theft of a skirt belonging to Marion Haddow, and was fined .£2. It was stated that the woman from whom the skirt was stolen had changed the garment at a draper's'.where she was trying an another skirt, and that the defendant was in the shop' at the time and committed tho theft. Georgo Miller was fined ,£2 because of a breach of a prohibition order. Peter John Anslow was sentenced to three months' imprisonment 'for stealing a bag and contents (valued at .£ls 18s. Gd.) belonging to Ilcnry Mulqiieen. The evidence was to the efl'ect'tliat Mulqueen nnd afriend went into an hotel and loft tho bag iu the lobby. On their way out they discovered that the bag had beon taken. Detective Carney subsequently recovered the bag and most of the property. The chiefi detectivo informed the Court that Anslow had several convictions against him and that the sentence respecting ono of thorn had just been completed.
